Theme:
To be servants like God.
DOMUND
.Objetive :
That children get to understand that to govern, like Jesus says to us, is to serve like the last of all.
Because of the celebration of the MISSIONS DAY, the catechesis will change a little its usual order.
Chose three kids that arrive early to welcome the rest of the kids. Each one of them will have two letters of the world DOMUND place on their chest. These three kids that are in the entrance place in the order of the word DOMUND will give their partners a small card in which it will be written the name of one of the 5 continents of the world. Everyone will hide their cards until they are asked for it.
Place the following expressions taken from the Gospel on the hall:
“Whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant”
“Whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave.”
“The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."
The place will also be decorated with paper flowers, balloons, etc. On top of a little table that will be placed on the center of the hall, a table clothe will be set and on it a crucifix and the poster of the DOMUND day.

Dear children: today all catholic celebrate the DOMUND day: Mission’s Worldwide Sunday. We as members of the missionary childhood are gathered here around Jesus to be with him, learn from him y ask him for the missions and its missionaries.
3- Prayer.
let’s gather in groups according with the continents we have: Asia, America, Oceania, Africa and Europe. Each group will prepare a prayer, to ask o thank for the continent that has corresponded you.
We will hold hands and sing the following song or one similar:
ALL TOGETHER BEING ONE BODY, ONE PEOPLE THAT WAS BORN ON EASTER. MEMBERS OF CHRIST IN BLOOD REDEEMED, GOD’S PILGRIM CHIRCH. THE STRENGHT OF THE SPIRIT THAT THE SON SENT US BY THE FATHER LIVES IN US.
HE PUSHES US, LEADS US AND FEED US, GOD’S PILGRIM CHURCH.
After that the catechist invites the groups to do the prayer they had prepared and, once they are finished he will indicate the children to place the alms on top the table that each one of them collected during the week for the missions.
4- Gospel
Gospel: Mark 10,35-45
35Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. "Teacher," they said, "we want you to do for us whatever we ask." 36"What do you want me to do for you?" he asked. 37They replied, "Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory." 38"You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said. "Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?" 39"We can," they answered. Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with, 40but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared."
41When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. 42Jesus called them together and said, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
5- Enlightenment
For the “Enlightenment”: from the message the following will be performed:
Materials: You will have made some cylinders of cardboard or card of several colors with wholes made for the eyes, mouth, nose and ears, to place them on the children’s head.
Three kids, one with a pointing hat on his head, another one wearing a golden crown and another with a ribbon around his head, will be separated from the rest until the moment of their performance.
When everybody has put on their masks, music starts playing and everyone starts dancing.
After a while, the person with the pointing hat enters the room, sends to turn off the music and commands everybody to do what he says: sit on the floor, get on their knee, put their hands on their back, make groups according to the color of their hats, etc. Then the second one wearing the golden crown comes in and takes the place of the first one with the hat pushing him into he corner. The king gets a chair and sits and starts commanding the rest to serve him , he organizes a group for it to be his army to defend him. “The people”, tired of so much oppression sits on the floor without knowing what to do and in that moment the one with he ribbon on his head comes in dancing and singing, and talking to people, starts getting them up and gather them all. When all of them gather into a single group, they will take off their masks and sing the song that was sung at the beginning: ALL TOGETHER...
6- Celebration
As soon as the catechist representation is over ask the kids:
¿How did you feel?
¿Which is the message, you think, has been transmited?
¿What is the relationship between the message and the missions?
