28º Ordinary Sunday - cycle B - |
|
Theme:
If God is in our heart, there is no place in it for the wealth of this world.
.Objetive :
That children understand that the man’s only and truly richness is God, our Lord.
- 1-Environment:
On the billboard set the following picture and also some small envelopes with cards with messages from the Gospel (e.g. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”)
2- Greeting:
Dear Children: there are people who have everything they wish and they are not happy, they do not have the most important thing, Father God is not in their hearts. We must be happy because we do not have many things but we do have the greatest treasure: we have Father God.
3- Renewal of commitment.
Revision of commitment:
-¿Have I prayed every night for the kids that suffer because of their parents separation, for Jesus to be their comfort and joy?
-¿Have I told other kids, that are not from the Missionary Childhood, that Jesus loves them and wants to be their friend?
-¿Have I placed my picture on my bedroom’s wall?
4- Prayer.
Dear Father God: we are sure that you are the greatest treasure. Without you ¡what can we do? Please clean our hearts from the trash that is slipping into it, so that you can feel happy with us. Do not let us fall into the temptation of loving wealth, material things, more than people. Amen
5- Activity
The catechist hides a bag of candies where ever he wants to. Divide into 4 teams and all members have to number themselves starting by the number one. The catechist had prepared as many cards as kids in each team, and on each one he will write two words. (e.g. CHARITY-CAFARNAUM-PATIENCE- GALILEA-RESURRECTION, ETC.) Place all the cards in a bag and starting with the kids that have number one, ask each one of them to take out one card and say the meaning of each of the written words. The player that answers correctly will acumulate points for his/her team. After everybody participates, the winner team has the luck of searching and finding the treasure for having acumulated more points.
6- Gospel .
Mark 10,17-3
17As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" 18"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. 19You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.’" 20"Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy." 21Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." 22At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!" 24The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." 26The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, "Who then can be saved?"
27Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." 28Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!" 29"I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. 31But many who are first will be last, and the last first."
7- Reflexion
-¿What was the question made by the man who approached Jesus?
-¿What did Jesus proposed the man who approached him?
-¿Why did the man left Jesus and went sad?
-¿What did Jesus say about the wealthy people?
-¿What is Jesus’ promess for those who leave everything for him and the Gospel?
8- Enlightenment
A man asked Jesus what he needed to do to have an eternal life. Jesus tells him to follow the commandments and the man answers that since he was young hw has been following them. Then Jesus proposes something very important: get rid of wealth; sell everything, give the money to the poor so you have a treasure in heaven and then, follow Jesus. After that Jesus told his disciples that it was very difficult for a wealthy man to enter into the Kingdom of the Heavens. Disciples got scared and said: “who then could be saved? Jesus answered that it is difficult for men but with Father God’s help it can be achieved, because everything is possible for God.
Wealth is not for saving or for placing them on an altar inside the heart. They are for sharing. Father God gives us the air we breathe, the nature we enjoy, the joy that enraptures us. ¿What does a rich man do without air, nature, love, joy? He lives a sad life very fearfull of loosing his wealth, he is tied person, enslaved. Jesus wants the best for us and that is the reason why he proposes to get rid of the money, of having, of power and pleasure.
9- Celebration
The catechist invites the children to come in front of the billboard to take the small envelopes. When every child has an envelope they all open theirs and read aloud. Then the catechist says that they are going to recite Our Father and Heil Mary.
