Theme:

Jesus, has done everything good.

That the children understand that the signs done by Jesus were because of his goodness and love for the needy.

Put the following phrase :JESUS DID EVERYTHING WELL on the notice board.

Dear children, I wish that Jesus becomes happier and happier with every one of us. He helps us to do the things correctly, with love, with joy and with generosity. That is why He is going to be the center and the one who animates this group of missionaries.

- During this week, did you do little chores at home so that only God the Father could see you?

-Every night, did you thank God the Father for the joy we feel when we serve and help others who suffer and have no one to help them?

Dear Jesus, You always knew how to do things correctly because you always did what God the Father wanted. Sometimes, we don’t do what God wants and because of this things don’t turn out well. Give us a humble and obedient heart so that we would carry joy and love to others just like you. Amen.

Give each child a copy of the following drawing and ask them to color it. On the lines that are on each side of the mouth, write expressions that agree with the words JESUS DID EVERYTHING CORRECTLY

The Healing of a Deaf and Mute Man

31Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis.[i] 32There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man.

33After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue. 34He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!" ). 35At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.

36Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. 37People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said. "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."

According to the gospel, which places did Jesus visit? Who did they carry to Jesus and why? What did Jesus do to the man they carried to him? What did the people say when Jesus made the man who was deaf and dumb, talk and  hear?

Jesus walked with the people at the side of the Galilea sea, crossing the Decapolis. Decapolis means ten cities. The fame of Jesus has extended in this area and as He passed by, the people brought a deaf and dumb man to Jesus and the people begged Jesus to put his hands on the man. Jesus took the man apart from the crowd, He put his fingers in the man’s ears and He touched  the man’s tongue. Jesus looked up to the heavens, sighed and said ‘open’and the man was cured. The people were surprised and they said ‘HE HAS DONE ALL THING WELL’ Jesus told the people not to say anything about what had happened but they didn’t stop speaking about what Jesus did.

Many people, like us, that can hear and speak very well but they don’t listen to the words of Jesus, they don’t listen to those who suffer, they don’t tell others about the message of salvation. As followers of Jesus there are things that we must do: we must have our ears open to hear the word of God, we should hear those who need us, we should give thanks for all that God the Father has given us and for those who do good to us. We should not speak badly of anyone, nor  should we not insult anyone.

Before hand the catechist should prepare cards with the following expressions: JESUS, SON OF GOD; JESUS OUR SAVIOUR; MERCIFUL JESUS; JESUS OUR WAY; JESUS THE TRUTH; JESUS EVERLASTING LIFE; JESUS DEAR FRIEND; JESUS THE BEST TEACHER; JESUS TRUE LIGHT; JESUS WHO BECAME MAN LIKE US;  JESUS WHO DIED AND RESSURRECTED; JESUS BREAD OF SALVATION; JESUS WHO DID EVERYTHING WELL. The catechist would give a card to each child and ask them to reflect on the words of the cards and prepare a prayer of thanks giving or of praise or a petition. Everyone, standing in a circle will express their prayer.

  • 10- Commitment

-Every day be aware to bless God the Father and the people around us.

-Pray for all those who don’t want to accept Jesus and his way of salvation so that their ears may be open to the words of Jesus and to those who suffer.
