JESÚS IS OUR
PATH
T hat
children reinforce the conviction that Jesus loves us so much that he wishes us
to be where he is.
Put on the billboard the first commandment of a missionaire: as Jesus, “A
MISSIONAIRE CHILD LOOKS ALL MEN WITH EYES OF A BROTHER”.
Dear Children: this time of Easter is of joy and getting closer to Jesus and
to others, that is why Missionary childhood gives us the ten commandments that
we will be meeting and learning.
- 3) Review
of the commitment:
-
Have we spoken to others telling them that Jesus is our Saver?
-
Have I remembered to pray for the missionaires that are chased for teaching
Jesus path?
-
Dear Jesus: You tell us not to loose peace. We know that in your kingdom of
happinness
you have prepared a place for all of those who believe in you. Arise our faith
each day and teach us to follow the path that God father wants for us. Help
those who do not know you so that they can feel joy for being in you kingdom
too. Amen
The catechist will have prepared on three pieces of board:
PATH – TRUTH – LIFE
He/she will form three groups of children. One kid of each
group will choose one of these three words and with it each group will do one of
the following activities:
- A story.
- A presentation.
- A song.
- A mime.
- Other.
- 6.- GOSPEL
John
14, 1 - 12
" Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my
father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I
go to prepare a place for you? And when I go to prepare a place for you, I
will come again and I will take you to myself, that where I am you may be
also. And you know the way where I am going.’ Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we do
not know where you are going; how can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I
am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by
me. If you had known me, you would have known my father also; henceforth you
know him and have seen him.’
Philip said to him, ‘Lord, show us the Father. And we shall be satisfied.’
Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me
Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the
Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me?
The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father
who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the
Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves.’
‘Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that
I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father."
Jesus tells the disciples that he is going to prepare a
place for them.
- What does he mean with that?
- Why does he say that he wants us to be wherever he is?
- What did Jesus tell Tomas when he said they didn’t know
the road?
Jesus tells the disciples to not loose peace. We can loose peace because of
the distrust and doubts of the words and promises that Jesus says. He says
that if we believe in God we must believe in him. He promises a place where he
is, he wants us to be with him always. To get to that place, his kingdom, the
path is the same Jesus, that is also the truth and the life.
-
Standing up in a circle, we all thank Jesus with a song. It could be the
next:
-
Christ, master, you are the path,
-
Real life and eternal truth.(2)
We have seen on the billboard something important to do.
- What do each one of you think you can do this week to live
this first commandment of the Missionary child? (Each kid will express his/her
commitment)
- We will also pray each night for the victims of war in so
many countries and for the world to live in peace.
