Place the following drawing on the notice board. |

Dear children, Jesus always invites us to work
with him. He wants us to give him a true answer, not only of words but
of actions. Let us listen and be ready to receive his message.
-Did you ask forgiveness for any offense?
-Have you prayed for families that are not
united and for children who suffer because of this disunion?
Jesus, you invites us to work with you. You
always call workers to work in your kingdom because there is a lot
of work. As children, our work is not much but you look at our
hearts and you know that we want to give you everything. Help us to
work with joy in our hearts and to continue to be your friends.
Amen.
Give each child a sheet of paper so that each
one can draw something from the notice board. Each child should
explain why his or her choice.
The catechist will then invite the children to
listen to the message of Jesus in the gospel, Matthew 20, 1-16.
Who is the owner of the vineyard that Jesus
speaks about? What is the meaning of the fact that different workers
receive different salaries? Why does Jesus say that the last shall
be first and the first shall be last?
Jesus tells us that the amount of time that we spend
working is not as important as the quality of our work. Those workers who
started first felt badly because they received the same salary as those who
started after. In the kingdom of God, there is not preference, those who
accept the invitation of Jesus, already have their reward. For God our
generous answer is important. We should not work in the kingdom of God
thinking that God will treat us with differences. God is a just father who
loves us and takes care of us.
