- Objetive :

- Environment:
Write in big letters on the notice board the following:
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like…”
1- Greeting
Dear children: Jesus continues today speaking to us in parables relating to the Kindom of Heaven. He wants us to fully understand what he wants to tell us because in that way in our lives we will be capable of always following the straight path, the path to salvation.
2- Renewal of commitment.
-Have you prayed for your family every night?
-Have you use the list of the things you can do to help others?
3- Prayer.
Dear Jesus, though you respect our freedom you wish by all means that we discover and have the Kingdom of Heaven. That Kingdom is already among us, but we have to try hard to always have it. We are not constant, we surrender at the first difficulty. Make us strong, brave and always ready to take care of our treasure hidden in the Kingdom you talk about. Amen.
4- Activity.
The catechist will prepare a box with objects in it. Some useful, others not so useful and some worthless. He or she will invite three children to help him or her, two of them will take the objects from the box and one will copy on a blackboard the price of each object, the whole group will help to put a price to each item.
5- Gospel
The catechist will invite the children to listen to the message that Jesus has for us today.
Matthew 13, 44-52
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it. 47 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net which was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind; 48 when it was full, men drew it ashore and sat down and sorted the good into vessels but threw away the bad. 49 So it will be at the close of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous, 50 and throw them into the furnace of fire; there men will weep and gnash their teeth. 51 "Have you understood all this?" They said to him, "Yes." 52 And he said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old."
6- Reflexion
- How many parables has Jesus told us today?
- What is the main theme?
- What is the meaning of “selling all that he has and buying” the treasure or the pearl?
- Does the activity has any relation with what Jesus says?
7- Enlightenment
For Jesus the Kingdom of Heaven is the most precious treasure. He invites us and insists on making that Kingdom the most precious treasure for us. The difficulty is in the times we don’t believe Jesus, because our hearts are passionate with material and worthless things. That is why at the end of times weeping and desperation will come to those who have rejected the goods of Heaven, and have gone behind treasures of the world, the selfishness, the lies and sins. Jesus invites us to know how to choose the good from the bad, the useful from the worthless.
8- Celebration
We hold each other hands and sing: You are my treasure, you are my Lord, you are the joy of my heart. Then we say Our Father.
9- Commitment
-I will pray every morning for the children who don’t know Jesus and don’t know anything about the Kingdom of Heaven, for them to find someone to teach them the message of the Kingdom.
-I will ask other people if they know which is the kingdom that Jesus talks about.
